Ch Segur de Cabanac 2000

Mid-deep red with just a hint of brown. Touch of lanolin with lovely forest mushrooms, sweet blackcurrants and blackberries. Mild palate of ripe fruit and silky tannins. Black fruits and berries linger on the finish. Very good red. Saint-Estephe, Bordeaux, France 17.5/20 [tasted 26-12-2011]

Deep colour with just a hint of brown. Smoky nose, quite perfumed with violets obvious. Balanced, very good clean fruit, plums and blackcurrants and some lovely smoky mushroom in the background. Te Mata Awatea 2002

Amber edge. Ribena blackcurrant nose with dark plums. Lovely mellow wine, good tannins and acid in balance. Ripe cabernet dark fruits and merlot plums. Long finish with moreish fruit lingering.
